Tea Tree Plaza O-Bahn Closure

From 6:00 pm Friday 14 August until first service Friday 4 September the Tea Tree Plaza Interchange will be closed for resurfacing works.

This closure is required to undertake the final stages of the resurfacing works and will enable the project to be completed ahead of schedule.

During this time, there will be no pedestrian or bus access to Tea Tree Plaza Interchange. O-Bahn services will detour via the road network between Paradise Interchange and Tea Tree Plaza Interchange.

Buses that stop at Tea Tree Plaza Interchange will use temporary bus stops located on Smart Road.

The Interchange will reopen from first service on Friday 4 September, ahead of the Royal Adelaide Show.

The Footy Express will still run throughout the closure, with passengers able to catch the Footy Express from Smart Road.

Travel times may take longer than usual, so we encourage you to plan ahead.

Why we’re completing this work

This upgrade will provide a more durable road surface and help keep the interchange in good condition for the next 30 years or more.

Works include:

• removing the existing road surface, which is reaching the end of its operational lifespan
• resurfacing with rigid concrete pavement at each bus stop zone, which has a longer lifespan than the existing asphalt surface.

At times, stages of the work are highly visible, but others are less noticeable as pavement reconstruction involves a range of essential activities to ensure it is safe, durable and reliable.

Following this temporary closure, some minor finishing works may be required. This project is expected to be completed in September.

Accessibility

Support staff will be available at Tea Tree Plaza Interchange throughout the closure to help customers with accessibility needs and guide them to temporary bus stops.

Customers displaying a valid Disability Parking Permit can use the first row of parking spaces on the Tea Tree Plaza rooftop car park facing Smart Road during normal car park operating hours.

We are committed to providing accessible public transport for all customers, including older people, people with disability and those travelling with prams.
