The Belair line will be temporarily closed between Adelaide Railway Station and Mitcham Railway Station for multiple weeknight closures in August and September.
A weekend closure will also occur, with a partial line closure all day Saturday 29 August and a full line closure on Sunday 30 August 2026.
These closures will allow works to be completed for the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital Project. This work cannot be safely completed while trains are operating.
Substitute buses will operate during each closure.
Night closure:
The Belair line will be partially closed between Adelaide Railway Station and Mitcham Railway Station each night from:

Weekend closure:
The Belair line will be partially closed between Adelaide Railway Station and Mitcham Railway Station from first service to last service Saturday 29 August 2026.
The Belair line will also be fully closed between Adelaide Railway Station and Belair Railway Station from first service to last service Sunday 30 August 2026.
Services will resume from first service Monday 31 August 2026.
During both night and weekend closures, substitute buses will replace all train services between Adelaide Railway Station and Mitcham Railway Station. Substitute buses will also operate between Adelaide Railway Station and Belair Railway Station during the full line closure on Sunday 30 August.
Substitute buses will operate as closely as possible to the train timetable for the duration of the closure, but we encourage passengers to plan ahead.

Substitute bus stops will be positioned as close as possible to the railway stations. These stations are outlined in the Belair timetable.
The Adelaide Railway Station substitute bus stop will be located at Stop D North Tce - North side.
