Weekend train line closures in October

Across two weekends in October, temporary full line closures will occur on:

the Gawler line from first service Saturday 3 October to last service Monday 5 October 2026
the Outer Harbor, Port Dock and Grange line from 8:20 pm Friday 9 October to last service Sunday 11 October 2026.

These closures will allow annual renewal and maintenance works to be completed across both lines.

Substitute buses will operate during each closure.

From 8:20 pm Friday 9 October to last service Sunday 11 October 2026, the following rail lines will be closed:

Outer Harbor rail line between Adelaide Railway Station and Outer Harbor Railway Station.
Port Dock rail line between Adelaide Railway Station and Port Dock Railway Station.
Grange rail line between Adelaide Railway Station and Grange Railway Station.

Substitute bus information

During this weekend closure, substitute buses will replace all train services between:

Adelaide Railway Station and Outer Harbor Railway Station
Adelaide Railway Station and Port Dock Railway Station
Adelaide Railway Station and Grange Railway Station.

Substitute buses will operate as closely as possible to the train timetable for the duration of the closure, but we encourage passengers to plan ahead.

The following substitute bus service will operate:

H1 all stopping service between Adelaide Railway Station to Port Dock and Outer Harbor Railway Stations.
G1 all stopping service between Adelaide Railway Station and Grange Railway Station.

Substitute bus stops will be positioned as close as possible to the railway stations. These stations are shown on the Outer Harbor, Port Dock and Grange timetables.

The Adelaide Railway Station substitute bus stop will be located at Stop D North Tce - North side.
