The Hostplus SANFL Grand Final returns to Adelaide Oval on Sunday 20 September 2026, when Norwood takes on Sturt. This will be the first time since 1978 that the two clubs will meet in the SANFL Grand Final.
Fans can catch FREE public transport all day to and from Adelaide Oval with a valid game day ticket. AO and AOX services will operate after the match.

SANFL Grand Final: Norwood vs Sturt
Date: Sunday 20 September 2026
Traffic will be heavier than usual approaching the precinct, so please allow for extra travel time. Roads around Adelaide Oval will be closed for patrons to enter and exit the stadium safely. Be patient when leaving car parks and follow the directions of police and traffic controllers.
If you're catching buses after the game, regular bus stops outside the stadium will be closed. Buses will be using different stops near the stadium, so follow the direction of staff and look out for signs.
If you're travelling home by taxi or ride share services, choose a pickup location away from the stadium to avoid delays. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at traffic.sa.gov.au.
Bus to Adelaide Oval
AO and AOX services will operate afterthe game at Adelaide Oval. These services will depart up to 45 minutes after the siren from a dedicated interchange next to Adelaide Oval.

Train to Adelaide Oval
Catch the train for free with your valid game day ticket before and after the SANFL Grand Final. Free travel is available all day to and from Adelaide Oval. All train services will arrive and depart from the Adelaide Railway Station.
Regular and additional train services will operate before matches to ensure patrons get to Adelaide Oval.

Tram to Adelaide Oval
Catch the tram for free with your valid game day ticket before and after the SANFL Grand Final. Free travel is available all day to and from Adelaide Oval.
Festival tram line:
- This service operates from Glenelg to Adelaide Oval. It arrives and departs from the Festival Plaza tram stop on King William Road, a short walk to Adelaide Oval.
Glenelg and Botanic tram lines:
- These services both arrive and depart from the Adelaide Railway Station tram stop on North Terrace. Footy fans can then walk through the station and across the Riverbank Bridge to Adelaide Oval.
Please remember to check the digital display on the front of the tram before you board to avoid travelling in the wrong direction or getting on the wrong tram.

Between 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm the following bus stop closures will be in place:
- Stop 1 King William Rd - east and west side
- Passengers go to Stop 2 King William Rd, north west and south east side
- Stop 1 Sir Edwin Smith Ave - north side only
- Passengers go to Stop 2 Sir Edwin Smith Ave - west side
- Stop A2 and A3 King William Rd
- Passengers go to Stop B1 King William St - east side
- Stop Z1 and Z2 King William Rd
- Passengers go to Stop Y2 King William St - west side
Temporary taxi ranks will be installed at the following locations:
- King William Rd - west side, south of Pennington Tce (taxi rank only from 3:00 pm).
- Pennington Tce - south side, east of main car park entry (taxi and coach zone).
- Montefiore Rd - east side, north of War Memorial Drive
- War Memorial Dr - east of Montefiore Rd (for patrons with wheelchairs and mobility aids)
- The Casino taxi rank will be closed from 4:45 pm to 6:30 pm, with a temporary rank instated outside the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Passenger loading zones will be located in the following areas:
- King William Rd - west side, south of Pennington Tce from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm.
- Pennington Tce - north side, east of Montefiore Rd (between Montefiore Rd and Palmer Pl, west side).
- Montefiore Rd - east side, 75 metres south of War Memorial Dr.
