This National Volunteer Week, we are celebrating our Rail Care volunteers and their dedication to improving our rail spaces.
This year's theme is all about 'Connecting Communities', which will be celebrated from Monday, 19 to Sunday, 25 May 2025.
Network of volunteers
Our Rail Care program has over 400 volunteers across 40 Adelaide Metro sites on the rail network.
Volunteers work closely with local communities in maintaining rail gardens and transforming stops, as well as public art projects.
Bringing stations to life
Our Rail Care volunteers have recently completed:
- The bee and butterfly garden under Ovingham Bridge and at Seacliff Railway Station.
- New garden beds at Largs Bay Railway Station.
- Public murals in partnership with Kilkenny Primary School, promoting bike and road safety at James Street and West Croydon stations.
Get involved
Our Rail Care volunteers are a voice for the local community. You can join and help build healthy neighbourhoods across the network.
