From first service Saturday, 3 October to last service Monday, 5 October 2026, the full Gawler rail line will be closed between Adelaide Railway Station to Gawler Central Railway Station to allow annual renewal and maintenance works to be undertaken, that cannot be safely undertaken while trains are operating.
During this time, substitute buses will replace train services between Adelaide Railway Station and Gawler Central Railway Station. Substitute buses will operate at the same frequency as the train timetable, but we encourage passengers to plan ahead as travel times on substitute buses are longer, as they do not operate on a dedicated corridor and are affected by traffic conditions.
