The Gawler line will be fully closed from first service Saturday, 7 June to Monday, 9 June 2025.
Train services will not operate between Adelaide Railway Station and Gawler Central Railway Station.
Substitute buses:
During the full line closure, all stopping and limited stopping substitute buses will operate between Adelaide Railway Station and Gawler Central Railway Station in both directions.
Adelaide Metro will always attempt to provide a frequency of service; however, traffic conditions, roadworks and accidents can cause delays in service.
Substitute bus services will operate as closely as possible to the train timetable for the duration of the closure, but we encourage passengers to plan ahead.

The substitute bus stops will be positioned as close as possible to each railway station. These stations and stops are outlined in the Gawler Central timetable.
The Adelaide Railway Station substitute bus stop will be located at Stop D North Terrace - North side.
Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club race event:
On Monday, 9 June 2025, the Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club will be hosting a race event from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Substitute buses will service a temporary stop on Main North Road in close vicinity of the racecourse. This stop will be serviced for passengers travelling to and from the event.
Accommodating all passengers:
Every effort is made to ensure timetabled substitute bus services are accessible for all customers, including the elderly, customers with a disability and those travelling with a pram.
If you find your large mobility device does not fit on an Adelaide Metro bus, contact the Torrens Transit depot on (08) 8292 8100 to request an accessible taxi. This service is available from train station to train station only. It is not a door-to-door service.
Bicycle passengers:
Bicycles are not permitted on rail substitute bus services.
