Footy Express 2019

When: From Sunday 21 April 2019

Game Changer Footy Express services are FREE!

The 2019 Toyota AFL Premiership Season match between Adelaide and Gold Coast will be held at Adelaide Oval, 4.10pm Sunday 21 April 2019. Gates open at 2pm.

Leave the car at home and catch FREE Game Changer Footy Express bus, train or tram services with your valid AFL game day ticket.

All regular Adelaide Metro weekend bus, train and tram services are also free with your AFL game day ticket from first to last service on game day.

Regular Adelaide Metro weeknight bus, train and tram services are free three hours prior to the game start time with your AFL game day ticket.

ATTENTION SEAFORD and TONSLEY CUSTOMERS: Seaford trains from Brighton to Adelaide and the full Tonsley line have been replaced by extra substitute buses for this game. Timetable now available.

Key details

BUS

Bus services set down and pick up at the Interchange (PDF 172KB) on King William Road, with some services using Victoria Drive and Sir Edwin Smith Avenue.

Regional buses will drop off and pick up on Pennington Terrace.

TRAIN

All Footy Express trains operate to and from Adelaide Railway Station, a short walk across the River Torrens Footbridge to Adelaide Oval.

ATTENTION Seaford & Tonsley customers

Seaford trains from Brighton to Adelaide and the full Tonsley line have been replaced by extra substitute buses for AFL matches at Adelaide Oval during the Seaford and Tonsley line rail closures.

This affects the following AFL matches:

  • Saturday 13 April (Port v Richmond 4.05pm)
  • Sunday 21 April (Adelaide v Gold Coast 4.10pm)
  • Friday 26 April (Port v Nth Melbourne 7.20pm - Additional services)
  • Sunday 5 May (Adelaide v Fremantle 4.10pm)

TRAMS

Trams to Adelaide Oval operate to different tram stations depending on where you are travelling to and from.

To Glenelg:

  • Go to the Festival Plaza tram station on King William Road
  • Catch Festival Plaza trams from either platform

To Entertainment Centre:

  • Go to the Adelaide Railway Station tram stop on North Terrace
  • Catch Entertainment Centre trams from the southern side of the platform

To Botanic Gardens:

  • Go to the Adelaide Railway Station tram stop on North Terrace
  • Catch Botanic Gardens trams from the northern side of the platform

GAME CHANGER FOOTY EXPRESS MAPS

Game Changer Footy Express bus, train and tram services operate from all parts of metropolitan Adelaide.

TAXI RANKS

There will be temporary taxi ranks installed for this event at the following locations:

  • King William Road - west side, south Pennington Terrace.
  • Pennington Terrace - southern side, east of main car park entry and opposite on the northern side.
  • Montefiore Road - east side, north of War Memorial Drive.
  • War Memorial Drive - east of Montefiore Road (Disabled only).
  • The Casino taxi rank will be closed 6.30pm to 8pm.

PASSENGER DROP OFF

  • Pennington Terrace - southern side on the eastern end (13 vehicles)
 

Road closures

Between 12pm and 8pm

  • War Memorial Drive - between King William Road and the pedestrian footbridge.

Between 6pm and 8pm (Buses excepted)

  • King William Road - between North Terrace and War Memorial Drive.
  • Victoria Drive - between King William Road and Kintore Avenue.
  • Sir Edwin Smith Avenue - between Pennington Terrace and King William Road (taxis permitted to travel west bound to access Adelaide Oval).
  • Pennington Terrace - between King William Road and Montefiore Road (taxis excepted).

Between 6.30pm and 8pm (buses and trams excepted)

  • North Terrace - between King William Street and Victoria Street.
 

Bus stop closures

Stop 2 Montefiore Road will be relocated to just south of War Memorial Drive on the Morphett Street bridge from 1pm

Between 6pm and 8pm

  • Stop A2 and A3 King William Road
  • Stop 1 King William Road - east and west
  • Stop 1 Sir Edwin Smith Ave north
  • Z1 and Z2 King William St buses will drop off at Stop Y2 King William Street
