Catch public transport to the Royal Adelaide Show!

Travelling to the Royal Adelaide Show? Use public transport. Easy. Convenient

With extra Royal Show bus and train services operating to dedicated Showground stations, plus over 30 regular Adelaide Metro stops and services within walking distance on the Showground, make the smart move and hop on a bus, train or tram to the Show. No parking hassles, no parking fees.

How to get to the Show

To help plan your journey or see your next service in real time, visit our real time page, use the journey planner or download metroMATE - the official Adelaide Metro public transport app.

Travel with a metroCARD, it's easy and convenient or buy your ticket from our ticket booth outside the Adelaide Showground train station during the Show. 

When you validate your metroCARD at the Adelaide Showground train station, listen out for the chicken or cow noise!

Train services

All Belair and Tonsley trains will service the Adelaide Showground station to their regular timetable. Seaford trains (except the 7.58am to the city and 4.37pm, 4.57pm, 5.17pm and 5.37pm Seaford express services from the city) will also service the Adelaide Showground station to their regular timetables.

In addition, Royal Show Train Shuttle services will operate between Adelaide Railway Station and Adelaide Showground Station approximately every 30 minutes after 7.00pm each night of the Show.

21W Show Shuttle bus service

The 21W Show Shuttle bus is a metro fare service that runs every 20 minutes daily from stop V1 Currie Street in the city to the Goodwood Road bus interchange at the Showground and return.

Services depart Currie Street from 8am every day, with the last shuttle leaving the Showground at 11.15pm on Friday and Saturday and 10.15pm Sunday to Thursday.

22W O-Bahn Show Express bus service

To the Royal Show (via the O-Bahn and then direct to the Showground)

Catch 22W Show Express buses Monday to Saturday approximately every:

  • 15 minutes from 9am-11am
  • every 20 minutes from 11am to 3pm 
  • every 30 minutes from 3pm to 8pm

On Sundays, buses run from every 30 minutes from 9am to 8pm.

Or catch any regular O-Bahn service, running approximately every 5 minutes Monday to Friday and every 7 to 8 minutes on weekends, then connect to the 21W Show Shuttle bus at stop V1 Currie Street in the city.

From the Royal Show (via the O-Bahn to Tea Tree Plaza Interchange)

Catch 22W Show Express buses from the Goodwood Road bus interchange at the Showground Monday to Saturday approximately every:

  • 15 minutes from 9.40am to 10.55am
  • 20 minutes from 11.15am 3.50pm
  • 30 minutes from 4.15pm to 10.45pm.

On Sundays, buses run every 30 minutes from 9.45am to 10.15pm.

Tram services

Catch a tram to or from stop 3 Goodwood Road for the closest access to the Showground. Trams will run to their regular timetable.

With over 30 Adelaide Metro public transport stops and services within walking distance of the Showground, including a dedicated bus interchange and railway station, make the smart move and hop on a bus, train or tram - no parking hassles, no parking fees. Catch any of the services listed below and hop off at the stop noted for a short walk to the Showground.

Closed bus stops and other public transport changes

  • Stop V1 Currie Street will be used by 21W Show Shuttle services for the duration of the show. 98C services will use Stop V2 Currie Street instead of Stop V1.
  • Stop Z1 Anzac Highway will be closed for the duration of the Show. Passengers will be directed to Stop J1 West Terrace.

Outer South services after 9am during the Show:

  • 721F and 722F buses servicing South Road between Stop 26 and the city will be required to pick up and set down passengers as requested, except for Stops 9 and 10 South Road
  • T721, T721X and T722 services will be required to pick up and set down passengers at Stop 3 Anzac Highway to and from the city as requested
  • T721X, 721X and 722X services will be required to pick up and set down passengers at Stops 1 and 3 Anzac Highway from the city only as requested.

School group bookings

Primary school students accompanied by a maximum of four adults can travel free to the Royal Adelaide Show on Adelaide Metro trams, trains and buses between 9.30am and 3pm Monday to Friday.

The maximum passengers per group booking per vehicle is: 50 for train/tram and 25 for bus.

The school must apply for a group travel pass with a minimum of 10 working days notice.

Secondary Schools are not eligible for free travel but are encouraged to make a group booking.

The same conditions with time/day of travel, numbers per group and notice required is the same as stated for Primary schools.

Cyclists

Please be advised that there will be access changes to the cycling/pedestrian path next to the Adelaide Showground station during the Show. Signage will be in place to advise of changes to access. .
