How to validate your ticket

Insert your ticket with arrows facing toward the validator

On busesbus

When you board the bus, show the driver your Seniors Card and you’ll be issued with a green ticket. Place the ticket into the validating machine with arrows facing up and pointing forwards.

On trains and tramsbus

When you board the train or tram, make sure you have your Seniors Card ready to show the Passenger Service Assistant or Conductor onboard. You do not need a ticket.To enter or exit Adelaide Railway Station you must show your Seniors Card at the staffed gates adjacent to Platform 1.

If you travel before 9.01 am and after 3 pm on weekdays

For travel before 9.01 am and after 3 pm weekdays, Seniors must purchase a valid concession ticket. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver, the tram conductor, at Adelaide Railway Station, or from the ticket vending machine on-board the train.

Who’s entitled to FREE travel?

Anyone who holds a valid Seniors Card, no matter where they live, is eligible for FREE Adelaide Metro public transport between 9.01 am and 3 pm weekdays and all day on weekends and public holidays.

This is an initiative of the Government of South Australia and applies to all Australian residents who hold a Seniors Card from any Australian State or Territory.
