![]() |
In the 2008 State Budget the Government announced, as part of its $2 billion public transport blueprint, an expansion of the light rail network Coast to Coast from Glenelg to the City and on to West Lakes, Port Adelaide and Semaphore. Following on from the first highly successful tramline extension from Victoria Square to City West, the next stage of the extension has taken the tramline another 2.8 kilometres along North Terrace onto Port Road to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. The project also includes a Park and Ride facility at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, providing an attractive alternative to driving and parking in the City. The extended line opended for full scheduled services on 22 March 2010. Visit www.infrastructure.sa.gov.au/ for project information. |
