How to Recharge your card
Recharging adds value to the balance of your metrocard. There are lots of ways to recharge.

You can recharge as needed, or even better, set up auto recharge online so you never run out of value on your metrocard. All you need is a credit card (Visa and MasterCard only) and an online metrocard account.
After recharging online, the value will be available at your first validation the next day (If the recharge is completed before 9pm, it will generally be available on your metrocard when you use it the next morning).
The validator will flash both green and yellow lights to indicate that the online recharge has been added to your Metrocard. After recharging online, your updated balance and transaction history statement may take up to 24-48 hours to appear on your online metrocard account.
Remember, if you need to recharge immediately you can instantly recharge by using a recharge machine, visiting a metrocard agent or recharge on-board trains and trams.
