Mobile ticketing trial

Mobile ticketing could provide public transport users with another means of fare validation.  We are trialling mobile ticketing technology to understand how it works, the end user experience and associated impacts to our current systems.

As a part of this trial we will be testing two different technologies for one month each on select routes; city trams, and the Hills and South Express services.  Our participants will have formal identification to prove they are a part of the trial.

We are also seeking your views on mobile phone ticketing and whether you think it is a convenient public transport ticketing option.

We are keen to better understand how an alternative fare collection service can affect and improve the experience of public transport customers.
