Outer Harbor, Grange and Gawler line July closure

When: From Saturday 22 July 2017 to Sunday 23 July 2017

The Outer Harbor, Grange and Gawler rail lines will be temporarily closed on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July 2017 to allow works to continue for the Torrens Rail Junction Project.

Substitute buses will be provided operating as close to the existing train timetables as practicable. Temporary timetables are available below. 

Outer Harbor and Grange lines

  • Will be fully closed between Adelaide and Outer Harbor/Grange
  • Closed from first service Saturday 22 July 2017, reopening for first service Monday 24 July 2017
  • Substitute buses will pick up and set down at stop W1 North Terrace 
  • Please note stops 9 and 10 Port Road to the city will be closed during this time. Passengers are advised to use stop 12 Port road or a temporary stop near the Rose Terrace/Port Road intersection.

Gawler line

  • Will be fully closed between Adelaide and Gawler Central 
  • Closed from first service Saturday 22 July 2017, reopening for first service Monday 24 July 2017
  • Substitute buses will pick up and set down at stop D North Terrace

  • Please note that Gawler Oval Station will not be serviced during this time. Please catch the train from Gawler Central or Gawler Stations

There will be no impact to MAC Footy Express services for the Adelaide v Geelong game on Friday 21 July 2017.

Wheelchair Passengers

All bus substitute services are accessible for all customers, including the elderly, customers with a disability and those travelling with prams.

For Outer Harbor/Grange passengers if you have a large mobility devices that does not fit on buses, these passengers are to be advise to contact the Torrens Transit Mile End depot on 8292 8113 to request an Access Cab or ask the driver.

Bicycle Passengers

Bicycles not permitted on bus substitute services.

The $238 million joint State and Commonwealth project involves separating the freight and passenger rail lines and removing level crossings at Park Terrace and Gibson Street. We thank you for your patience whilst these important works are undertaken.
