2017 Credit Union Christmas Pageant information

When: From Saturday 18 November 2017

At 9.30am Saturday 18 November 2017 the whistle will be blown at the corner of South Terrace and King William Street to start the 2017 Credit Union Christmas Pageant. 

There will be FREE travel on all Adelaide Metro services from first service until 2pm as well as extra Adelaide Metro buses, trams and trains operating to get you to and from the Pageant. No stress, no parking hassles.

As all the floats meander along the pageant route, Father Christmas will be getting ready to greet all the children. The pageant will officially finish with Father Christmas arriving at the Magic Cave, North Terrace. 

Extra public transport services

Tram services

Tram services will not operate in the city during the Pageant from first service until the Pageant has finished at approximately 1pm.

  • Additional trams will operate before and after the Pageant
  • Trams from Glenelg will terminate at South Terrace
  • Trams from the Entertainment Centre will terminate at Adelaide Railway Station

Extra bus services

Additional bus services will operate for the pageant. Download the temporary timetables (PDF 743 KB). Adelaide Hills, Outer South and Outer North services operated by Southlink will operate additional services on demand.

Road closures and closed and alternative bus stops

Due to extensive road closures for this event, many Adelaide Metro services will be required to detour from first service until the completion of the Pageant at approximately 1pm with many bus stops closed.

Extra Pageant Day car parking at Bonython Park

With the Outer Harbor train line closed on Pageant Day, Adelaide Metro and City of Adelaide are offering extra car parking at Bonython Park for customers wanting another option to get to and from this event. Parking is $8.50 for the day.

Park the car, then hop on a bus at Port Road stop 2 or Port Road stop 4 or the tram at the Bonython Park or Thebarton tram stops to get into the city. See a map of Bonython Park and nearby transport stops below.

Public transport is FREE until 2pm on Saturday 18 November.

Due to road closures, some buses are detouring and trams from the Entertainment Centre are not operating past Adelaide Railway Station.
